The Dolomites World Heritage Geotrail is an interactive experience aiming to help you discover the Dolomites’ geology. The events which occurred over the last 300 million years left their mark on the mountains’ rocks and shapes, turning them into a beautiful book you can read, one “page” at a time. The Dolomites’ geology and landscape are so important that in 2009, the UNESCO included them in its Heritage Site List.
Make the most of the Dolomites World Heritage Geotrail to discover the Dolomites’ geology. You can walk on 47 hiking trails or take a step back in time by exploring the three virtual thematic routes. Or shift from one to the other, too. You’ll get acquainted with the forces of nature which moulded the Dolomites’ landscape over time, and the myriad shapes it hosted all the way to our modern times. By the end of this journey, you’ll be able to recognise the transformations which happened and, to a certain extent, are still ongoing in the Dolomites, making you appreciate them even more than before.
